A Love Story at the Foot of Lazy Mountain
There are some weddings that stick with you forever—not just because of the beauty of the day, but because of the people who fill it with life. Griffin and Katelyn’s wedding at Lazy Mountain Acres in Alaska was one of those moments I’ll always carry with me.
It all began with a connection through past clients and dear friends, Journey and Calia, who thought I’d be the perfect fit to MC this special day. When they reached out, I knew I couldn’t say no. My friend Eric joined me as the DJ, and together we were ready to help bring Griffin and Katelyn’s celebration to life.
A Setting Straight Out of a Dream
Lazy Mountain Acres is more than just a venue—it’s a breath of fresh air in every sense. The towering mountains in the background, the gentle whisper of the breeze through the trees, and the open skies gave the day a feeling of peace and wonder. Their open-air wood event space was the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural elegance, letting the beauty of Alaska itself become part of the décor.
A Ceremony with Heart
One of the most moving parts of the day was the ceremony, performed by Gary, the groom’s father. There’s something incredibly special about a wedding officiated by someone who has known the groom since the very beginning of his story. Gary’s words were more than vows and readings—they were a father’s blessing, filled with love, pride, and genuine joy for the life his son and new daughter-in-law were beginning together.
Laughter, Music, and Memories
Once the “I do’s” were spoken, the celebration flowed naturally into an evening of laughter, dancing, and connection. I had the honor of guiding the evening as MC, keeping the energy up and the moments seamless, while Eric worked his magic on the music, filling the air with the perfect soundtrack to match the joy of the night.
The open-air reception space was alive with conversation and movement. Guests shared stories under the warm glow of lights, kids darted around the dance floor, and every so often, I’d catch Griffin and Katelyn exchanging those quiet, just-married glances that said everything words couldn’t.
More Than Just a Wedding
This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a gathering of hearts from near and far, drawn together to celebrate a love that felt both adventurous and deeply grounded. It was the kind of day where time seemed to slow, letting everyone truly savor the moments.
Griffin and Katelyn, thank you for inviting me to be part of your incredible day. Your wedding was more than a celebration—it was a reminder of why I do what I do. The laughter, the tears, the beauty of that Alaskan backdrop—all of it came together to tell a story that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Here’s to your next chapter—may it be as breathtaking as the mountains that witnessed your vows.
